A student will test up to three times to attempt to achieve 85%; this is considered mastery for a test. When taking the test the first time, a student may not use any outside resources (friend, Internet, textbook, etc.). If an 85% is not achieved the student will review what they missed and research to find the correct answer(s) and retake the test during the next class period. Francis Tuttle has an Open-Entry, Open-Exit policy for post-secondary students. Persons may enter the class at scheduled entry dates during the year and leave when they have completed the desired career major. Because of the differences in training, time spent in class, and individual experience, the class will not be taught as a lecture series or structured where everyone completes the same objectives at the same time. The class is structured as Progress-Based, meaning students will need to make satisfactory progress towards completion of their career major.
Each person must assume a mature, responsible attitude toward completing the lesson materials. It is assumed that anyone enrolled is here for the purpose of preparing for a related occupation. The responsibility of learning must be assumed by the STUDENT. Once the student has identified their occupational goals and completed orientation, they will know what to study and know where they are in the curriculum at any given time. Students are responsible for using their time wisely. Use the Internet only for class-related assignments. If students choose to listen to music, it should not monopolize a student's time or prevent progress (as determined by instructor) and it should not be heard by others. If a student does not use their class time wisely, including playing games, chatting, etc., a minimum of 10 hours will be added to their contract for each offense. Continued abuse of this policy may result in revoking access to a computer and/or related privileges, loss of privilege to return to the program for additional training, and/or suspension or dismissal.
Depending upon the student's schedule and previous experiences, the program may take two years for completion. Continued training in this program is a privilege that should be earned through responsible, mature behavior, satisfactory progress and grades, and compliance of the attendance policy.
